Arnold Robert Staple, 88, of East Stroudsburg , died Saturday, June 9th, at the VNA Hospice House East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Joan( Prigge) Staple.
Born in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Frederich and Olga (Sonnenburg) Stapel. Before his retirement Arnold worked as a manager for Western Electric.
Arnold was a born leader, a self-made man and a fine father and husband. He was a member of the telephone Pioneers. He loved woodworking, gardening, golf, astronomy, science, education and was continually growing and learning.
In addition to his wife, Joan, Arnold is survived by two sons Jeffrey A. Staple of Sterling ,Virginia, Arnold F. Staple and his wife Tara Molloy, of Taunton ,Ma. He is also survived by a brother Arthur Staple and his wife Claire of Connecticut and seven grandchildren, Jeffrey P., Jill A., Dr. Jacquelyn A., Jessica L., Bryan, James and Karen Staple. Predeceasing Arnold were also two brothers Fredrich and Henry.
The Reverend Gail Kees, will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, June 12 at 11 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church 9 N. 9th St., Stroudsburg PA. Friends and family may gather from 10:30 AM until the time service at the church. Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 502 VNA Road , East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
