Alverna Ruth Parker

July 9, 1931 - March 7, 2022

Alverna R. (Kuhenbeaker) Parker, 90, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Gardens of East Stroudsburg. Born in Long Pond she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie (Belles) Kuhenbeaker. Alverna was the beloved wife of George Parker with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She was a member of the Poplar Valley United Methodist Church of Stroudsburg as well as an avid member of the Quilter's Guild. Alverna enjoyed quilting, sewing, doing crossword puzzles and as a 12-year resident of West Virginia, she enjoyed making applebutter for the Applebutter Festival. Above all Alverna cherished moments spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors: In addition to her husband, George, Alverna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Diana Reish and her husband Craig, Lila Parker and Cherry Vecchio and her husband Ralph; brother, Clarence Kuhenbeaker; sister, Joyce Roeber; grandchildren, Renee Swingle, Michael O'Campo and his wife Cindy, Kayla Whisler and her husband Jim, Alaina Brown and her husband David, Leonard Reish and his wife Kelsey, Amanda Powell and her husband Derrick, Maria Vecchio and her fiancé Adam Benza, Michelle Vecchio and Julia Vecchio and great grandchildren Clarissa, Liam, Ethan, Bastian, Orion, Emma, Lydia, Jameson and Archer. Alverna is preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd Kuhenbeaker and Norman Kuhenbeaker and sisters, Mae Price and Betty Jane Barleib. Services: A funeral service will take place at 12 Noon on Monday, March 14, 2022 in the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa 18326 where the family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Pocono Union Cemetery. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Poplar Valley Church, 1035 Poplar Valley Rd E, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
