David Arthur Ressler

David "Goober" Ressler, 75, of Cresco, died Sunday, July 25, 2021. He was the loving husband of Doris (Hodge) Ressler, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. Born in Nazareth, he was a son of the Late Frank and Mary (Gostony) Ressler. A proud Veteran, David served in the 6th Battalion 29th Artillery 4th Infantry United States Army from November 1965 through November 1971 of the Vietnam War, retiring as Sergeant. During the 70's he farmed in Poplar Valley, and later worked in construction for HRI Inc.; becoming manager for the Hanson Aggregate Plant in Bossardsville. Upon his retirement in 2006, he enjoyed relaxing, feeding the deer, turkey, ducks, birds and traveling. David was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, lifetime member of the VFW Post 5588 in Kunkletown, and the American Legion Post 0346 in East Stroudsburg. David was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael J. Ressler of Newfoundland; daughter, Michell B. Ressler of Reeders; brother, Richard Ressler and his wife, Joanne of Nazareth; two sisters: Eleanor Konrath of Nazareth and Janice Ressler of Wind Gap; and beloved grandchildren: Michael, Mackenzie, and Carrisa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Paul's House Valor Foundation Clinic, 1130 Scenic Drive, Jonas, Pa 18058. Interment with Military Honors will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 3 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory.
