Donald Robert Kinsley

August 2, 1935 - December 6, 2021

Donald Robert Kinsley, 86, a lifelong resident of Pocono Summit, died Monday, December 6 at Forest City Nursing and Rehab in Forest City. He was the loving husband of Ann Marie (Fedin) Kinsley, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Layton and Helen (Miller) Kinsley. In 1932, Helen and Layton purchased the L.L. Lyons Store which became Kinsley's Market, where Donald and James helped run the family business. In 1974, after Helen's retirement Donald opened and operated Kinsley's Pocono Summit Market and soon after established D. Kinsley and Son Trucking and Produce. At the age of 16, Donald traveled to Washington DC to work as a page in Congress for a short time for Representative Francis E. Walter. He was a founding and lifetime member of the Pocono Summit Volunteer Fire Company, and member of the Masonic Lodge 780 in Cresco. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, David Kinsley of Mount Pocono; daughters: Denise Skurnowicz and her husband, Stephen of Lenoxville; Jennifer Kinsley and Colin Mangler of Easton; Donna Kinsley and her husband, Anderson Verzolla of Hollister, California; brother, James Kinsley and his wife, Donna Kay of Pocono Summit; grandchildren: Dennis, Dustin, Robert, Suzanne, Mary, and Danielle; and great-grandchildren: Brixton and Easton. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, December 12 at Bolock Funeral Home 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa 18326. Pastor Margie Good will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The Kinsley Family kindly requests all those in attendance to please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
