Evelyn Zollner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Evelyn Marie Zollner, of Cresco, passed away peacefully May 28, 2019, at home, in the company of her loving daughter. Evelyn was born November 10, 1925, in Gunnison, CO, to Johannes Ludwig Wilhelm Klinker and Maria Adelina (Petersen) Klinker. She is predeceased by her husband, Marvin Jay Zollner. She attended public schools in Schleswig, IA, and Colorado Springs, CO, and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. In 1945, Evelyn married Marvin Jay Zollner after meeting in college. The couple settled in Denver, CO. In 1955 the family moved from Denver to New Providence, NJ. Evelyn was a devoted mother and wife, instilling a love of travel, mountains and the ocean in her children as well as a strong work ethic and respect for life, education, God and country. Evelyn was an accomplished Bridge player with Master's points and a champion Senior bowler. In addition to her husband, Marvin Zollner, Evelyn was predeceased by her son, Robert Dean Zollner; three grandchildren, Sean, Michael and Larry Brady and her five siblings, Everett Klinker, Melvin Klinker, Rosalie Wall, Donald Klinker and Shirley Hingst. She is survived by five children, Karen Wasserman (Stuart) of Waterford, CT; James Zollner (Georgeanna) of Portland, OR; Patricia Woodhouse (Woodie) of Oceanside, CA; Debra Brady (Thomas) of Cresco; and Terry Carroll (Kevin) of New Providence, NJ. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. She was a remarkable person who leaves a legacy of love and family. A private graveside service will be held in NJ. There will be a celebration of life ceremony held at a later date when all of her children can attend. Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
