Frances I. Kozarsky

Fran I. Kozarsky, 64, of Cresco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at home with her children at her side. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late David and Gertrude (Scher) Kalina. Fran moved to Bronx, NY in 1961 and later to Rockland County, NY in 1981. She relocated to the Poconos after retiring. Until her retirement, Fran was a social worker for Rockland County for 30 years, where she helped countless families. Prior to social work, she was a teacher for several years and also owned a lingerie store. She lived for her family and friends, loved to travel, adored all animals with a special adoration for cats, enjoyed chocolate, books, meditation, exploring new trails, lakes and waterfalls, and absolutely treasured the ocean. Most of all, Fran loved being a grandmother "Yaya". Fran is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Alfonso and her husband, Jośe of Cresco; son, Eric Kozarsky and his wife, Laura of Ballston Spa, NY; husband, Evan Kozarsky of Boca Raton, FL; brother, Phil Kalina and his partner, Donna Spiegler of Shaker Heights, OH; and beloved grandchildren: Jisahn, Caleb, Caleigh, Alex, and Matthew. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, with a service to follow.
