Jean Guy Daigle, 64, of Long Pond, died Tuesday, August 26. Guy was a man of great physical and mental strength. He combated a disease that plagued him for the past 10 years. He and his wife Ellen were married in 1983; together they had three wonderful children Daniel, Nicole and Olivia. He was the son of O'Neil and Irene (Nadeau) Daigle, of Fort Kent, Maine now deceased. Guy was born and raised in rural Fort Kent, Maine on a self sufficient farm. In this environment he learned his family's traditional time honored values of hard work and strong ethics that he embraced throughout his life. In 1976, Guy, two of his sisters and three of his brothers ventured to the Pocono Area. Although, the Daigle brothers had quite a reputation for fun and foolery, more importantly they were known for their precision and quality craftsmanship. In 1984, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Daigle began their own successful construction company and were members of the Pocono Builders Association. The many homes that he crafted will stand in his memory for years to come. Spending time outdoors, with his family, hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. Guy loved his cars and cruising. He was a people's person, meeting, mingling and frequenting the local restaurants. Most will remember him for his big smile, genuine personality, and sense of humor. In addition to his wife Ellen, Guy is survived by his children: Daniel, Nicole, and Olivia Daigle; four brothers: Richard, Reno, Ronald and Maurice Daigle; five sisters: Bernice Pellitier, Jackie Bouchard, Nancy Caron, Linda Marquis and Brenda Daigle; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald and Mark Daigle; six sisters: Doris Paradis, Joan Matthews, Rosemary Daigle, Patricia Belanger, Thelma Bouley, and Constance Childress. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31st at the Bolock Funeral Home on the corner of Routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley at 3:00 pm until the memorial service which will follow at 5:00 pm. Cremation was entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 400 Kansas City, MO 64114-3367.
