Luz Dulay Gundan, 82, of Tobyhanna, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at home. She was the loving wife of Rolando Gundan, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Lingayen Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a daughter of the late Restituto Bautista and Anita Talana (Casasola) Dulay. While living in the Philippines, Luz attended Dagupan College, and then graduated from the University of Manila, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education and Law, and Master's degree in Education and Arts. Luz came to the United States in 1998, where she was a member of the Pocono Farms East Homeowners Association, the Woman's Society of Christian Service, and the National Teacher's Association. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Rolando Gundan Jr. and his wife, Catherine; Rommel Gundan and his wife, Christina; Misael Gundan and his wife, Jocelyn; and Milton Gundan and his wife, Jonalyn all of the Philippines; daughters: Cynthia Gundan-Viloria "Shiela Mouttout Kenedy" of Tobyhanna; and Carmencita Gundan-Lanuza and her husband, Rommel of Manila, Philippines; grandchildren: Hazel Gundan Frani, Nelson Gundan Frani, Michaela Artates Gundan, Aries Gundan Frani, Joel Torres Gundan, Romina Christea Trance Gundan, James Misael Torres Gundan, Rochelle Gundan Lanuza, Cathleene Olayne Cordero Gundan, Chris Rommel Trance Gundan, Roland Catrine Cordero Gundan, Melyza Rodriguez Gundan, and Elaine Rodriguez Gundan, and one great-grandchild Anastasia Hazel Zampano. In addition to her parents, Luz was preceded in death by her son, Reynaldo Gundan. There will be a viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 4 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor Ralph Chubbuck will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, October 5 at Pine Grove Cemetery, South Sterling.
