Mariealaina "Missy" Rivera, 9, of Blakeslee, died Thursday, July 28 at the Janet Weiss Children's Center at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was the daughter of Larry and Anita (Fratesi) Rivera. She was a student at Pocono Mountain and was also home-schooled. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Mt. Pocono. Missy was a special needs child who touched the lives of many. She was affectionately termed the "Pocono Princess". Missy and her family would like to thank the many people who touched her life and whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents, Larry and Anita, she is survived by three uncles, two aunts, two cousins, and a very large extended family. The Reverend Canon Virginia Rex-Day will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Mt. Pocono. Cremation will follow the service. There will be a viewing from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to help defray funeral expenses.
