Marilyn D. Moritz

Marilyn D. Moritz, 90, of Mount Pocono, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Brookmont Healthcare Center in Effort. She was the loving wife of the late Corporal Robert Latzo of the Pennsylvania State Police, and later married Carl J. Moritz Jr., with whom she shared 30 years of marriage, until his passing in 2013. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Paukstas) Davis. Marilyn took pride in serving her community and volunteering whenever possible. She proudly served six years with Justice of the Peace, eight years on the Mount Pocono Borough Council, six years with the Monroe County Housing Authority, and eight years with United Way. In addition, Marilyn also was a Girl Scout leader for 50 years, Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, volunteered 40 years to Meals on Wheels, and was on the Mount Pocono Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. She was in the church choir all of her life, and an active member at the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Robert Latzo of Mount Pocono. Pastor Bob Amundsen will conduct a service at 11 a.m. at the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church, 12 Church Avenue, Mount Pocono. Private entombment will follow.
