Mark Andrew Weiner, 55, of Tobyhanna, died Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He was the loving husband of Jazmin Cruz, with whom he shared 25 years of his life, and 15 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of Eileen (Cairns) Weiner of Brooklyn, and the late Eugene Weiner. A proud veteran, Mark served in the United States Marines. After his honorable discharge, he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician with the New York City Fire Department - Station 43. As a first responder during the rescue and recovery efforts following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, Mark contracted his illness. He retired from the FDNY in 2010 due to a job-related injury. In addition to his wife, and mother, he is survived by his children: Micheala Weiner and Andrew Weiner, both of Tobyhanna; brother, Randy Weiner of Brooklyn, New York; and sister, Dawn Weiner and her husband Glen Gentile. There will be a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 4 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a blessing service at 11:30 a.m. the funeral home. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
