Mary E Deramus Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Etta (Nelson) Deramus, 96, of Swiftwater, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Gardens at Stroud. Born in Bessmer, Alabama she was the daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth (Kennedy) Nelson. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Edward Dewey Deramus. Mary worked as a house keeper for two very special families, the Williams Family as well as the Staples family whom always treated her with appreciation, love and respect. Mary observed and learned many things from her time shared with both families. After moving on from housekeeping, Mary went on to work as a cook for the Fort McClellan army base in Alabama. She was blessed to be a part of the faithful community led by pastor Jerry Irwin at The Harvest Church of God in Aniston. After moving to the Poconos she became an active member of Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church. Above all, Mary will be remembered as a hardworking and faithful servant to the lord. Survivors: Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Everett; grandchildren, Chad Everett Evans, Sr. and Edward Alex Evans, Jr. and great grandchildren, Chad Everett Evans, Jr., Arielle King and Shania Mone Evans as well as a host of extended relatives. Services: Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
