October 19, 1946 - February 9, 2021
Susan Z. Irwin, 74, of Tobyhanna, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of James Irwin, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the youngest daughter of the late Stanley and Stella (Moxim) Zawrotniak. Susan moved to Tobyhanna in 1989 with her family and spent the remainder of her life there. Family was most important and she enjoyed spending time with those held dear. One and all were treated like family; from the neighbors coming over for Christmas Eve, to all of her daughters' friends referring to her as their other mother. Susan enjoyed dancing, singing, and would always pull someone up to join her on the dancefloor. Her love for movies had her regularly going with her girlfriends to the Casino movie theater, and if you couldn't find her home on a Monday night she was there for dinner and a movie. Most of all she loved being called "Babcia" and her grandchildren were the absolute joy of her life. Her face would light up at the mention of them. In addition to her contagious laugh and smile, Susan was kind, generous, funny, silly, and sweet. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Gillian Reilly and her partner, Krista Martucci of Dickson City; Jaime Rhea and her husband, Morgan Koeser of Tobyhanna; and beloved grandchildren: Maksym James and Nova Jean Koeser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Gloria Matylewich and Regina Parzych. There will be a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 21 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a blessing service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
