Thelma Vincent

December 30, 1935 - December 27, 2021

Thelma Vincent, 85, formerly of Bronx, NY passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at home. She was born in New York, NY on December 30, 1935 to Randolph Smith Sr. and Beatrice Smith. As a youth she attended Morris High School in the Bronx at the same time Colin Powell did. She was the wife of the late Clifford Vincent Sr. with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage and bore three children. Thelma was a devout Catholic and member of Blessed Sacrament Church in the Bronx for many years. After becoming a widow she re-located to Pennsylvania with her family and enjoyed watching St. Luke's church services weekly and even attended small weekly church services at Belmont Knoll Senior Building for 4 years. Thelma loved meeting people and attending small or large gatherings especially with family and friends. She was a Scrabble and Bingo enthusiast who also enjoyed playing the lottery and betting on horse races. Her favorite movie was "Its a Wonderful Life". As long as she kept herself surrounded by a loving family she was content. Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her son, Clifford A. Vincent, Jr.; youngest daughter and caregiver, Myra Vincent; her eldest daughter, Laura Mitcham and son-in-law, David Mitcham Jr.; sister-in-law, Deloris Smith. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Tiffany McClain, Melissa Mitcham, Craig Vincent, and Desiree Mitcham; one great-grandchild, Talia McClain; elder cousins: Donald McCallum and Dolores McCallum; a host of nieces, nephews and more. A graveside service will take place on at 1:00P.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2021 at Calverton National Cemetery at 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY 11933. Bolock Funeral Home at 6148 Paradise Valley Road in Cresco has been entrusted with the arrangements.
