William Thomas Powell, 73, of Pocono Lake, died Tuesday, January 26 at home. He was the husband of Martha (Avrett) Powell. Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late William and Doris (Swain) Powell. William was active in the Arrowhead Lake Community, where he worked for the Maintenance Department before he retired. He was a member of the Arrowhead Lake Seniors, volunteered in the community and was a life member of the Trevose Fire Co. in Bucks County. William was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Martha, William is survived by one son: William Michael Powell of Trevose; one daughter: Pamela Wagner of Blakeslee; two brothers: Lewis Powell of Trevose and Donald Powell of California; one granddaughter: Mary Elizabeth Wagner of Croydon and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law: John Wagner. Private cremation was entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Thornhurst Ambulance Squad, HC 1 Box 125A, Thornhurst, PA 18424.
